The Kenrick family has dwelt in this region for many centuries, and the big, rambling 'castle' that is their home started as a small baronial fortress, and was later added to in the 16th, 16th, and 18th centuries. Although the family has been in decline for many centuries, the family clung to Three Chimneys, and now, with a reverals of the family fortunes, it has begun to be restored to some of its old elegance. The main house is a Tudor manor, with several other additons. The Tower of Leaves and its wing is a remnent of the oldest part of the house. In recent years, its all been updated, and more rooms have been reopened. The grounds also contain a stables that has been coverted to a garage for those curious 'automobiles'; as well as a new building that houses the family winery. (not yet open to the public)
