Three views of the offices for the International Magical Mystery Force, an investigative branch of the Department of International Magical Cooperation.
The IMMF was formed to further the non law-enforcement investigation, exploration, magical recovery, and study of contemporary and ancient magical cultures.
It's specialist teams are occasionally backed up by Hex Breakers and Aurors in trickier, or more dangerous areas, the the unit is small in terms of personnel. The branch also has ties to the International Law Division of the Ministry of International Magical Cooperation to help its far-traveling operatives. Often a team is made up for a single short term mission from IMMF personnel, as well as other types of specialists, according to the type of need. (i.e. Creature Experts, Herbology Experts, etc.)
It cooperates with other Departments of the Ministry where travel outside the UK is required, such as partnering with the Department of Magical Research for testing and design of new spells in real-world situations. Although the IMMF isn't a law enforcement organization, it often works closely with the Auror Department and Magical Law Enforcement agencies in other countries to recover stolen artifacts of a sensitive nature.
