Career: Magical Archaeologist, IMMF
Placement: Friend
Notes:

"Few people surpass James in bold moves. Whereas I take a more measured approach to adventure, he goes at it with all wands blazing. I've seen this first hand when he helped out on one of my school capers, but I've also seen something others haven't: He does have a panic button, although he's matured since then. In a world that takes all kinds, James is a spark, and I would not have him change that. Since he works on criminal cases, I've had occasion to help him. I keep in touch, and enjoy the odd drink with him now and again."

I remeber Cavanaugh from school. He was alright from what I remember. He was one of those people in Gryffindor you cannot help but know. Not that it was bad or anything, he was how he was. Cavanaugh did join in on Hugh's crazy adventures. I haven't really seen him in a while, but I remember he had a cocky streak.

"Oh James. I hardly see him; because if bychance he comes to St. Mungo, his brother is the one who tends to his wounds. But I've seen him here and there. His brother and him are such opposites. But James is quite the character. When I do see him, he's always in rare form. A good chuckle though, always."

History:

"When I was Headmaster at Hogwarts I knew James mostly for his high energy nature, and easy ability to make friends; and both are very useful traits. He applied himself later in school, and rose to become one of our better students from Gryffindor. Those were exciting times a few years back, and James was part of the reason it was *chuckles* I wish him well in his new position with the Ministry. It's a tough job."

" I can't say I really understand James' motives. He's a good enough guy, and some girls find that reckless nature a turn-on; but he can be very obtuse, and a bit unfeeling. James introduced me to a friend of his from the Auror department for a date once. I'm not sure why he did that, except that I think he was gathering information on me through his friend (whom I had to slap). After that he lost interest in me altogether, although I don't mind being friends."

"Goodness, don't even ask.

We met some odd number of years ago, both second or third years, when he tried to fling earthworms at me during our Care of Magical Creatures double-session with Gryffindor and I retaliated with a live hornet that I had discovered earlier. The ensuing fight landed us both in detention, where a peace treaty was made and we both agreed to walk away amicably - until he reneged on the agreement with a dungbomb. That sort of sums up our relationship in a nutshell: he tries his best to push my buttons and I totter between playing his games and throwing up my hands in frustration. To be perfectly honest, as wholly irritating as he is sometimes, he's capable of pushing the envelope with me in more ways than one, which is a rarity. We work in the same department - still undetermined if that's a good thing or not - and as the bugger's not half bad-looking, on some nights we have a few too many gin and tonics and get a bit rowdy. His usual morning-after greeting is, "Let's go and have a few more and we can snog it off, what do you say?" or some other line, and my usual response is a saccharin "I'd rather die, thanks darling" or a jinx if I'm feeling right pissed. Just because we used to snog back in our sixth year for half a year (and now, occasionally) doesn't mean we're serious now or ever will be. He's good for a laugh, drinks, and a shoulder to bitch on. You know what they say - 'All work no play'..."
(LOL SAM like we discussed! feel free to change anything. i can't wait to play out this one.)

"The first time I ever met the bloke was when I was down in the kitchen one night messing around - I think it was second year. I wasn't expecting anyone and when he did show up I was surprised to see him. I mean, sure I'd seen him around the school; he hung around with Rufus and that group and my family knew his family cause they ran a pub. But I hadn't ever personally met him before, but that hardly mattered. Our friendship kind of took off from there. I was abosoutely estatic to find another person to cook with me and a fellow Qudditch fan. He and I were rivals on the pitch, cause who doesn't love a good competition now and then? He drops by the Red Hawk to have a drink on a regular basis and is a right laugh, and honestly I'm glad to have him there as my friend."
